Spring is when the countryside around Tombain wakens from its winter slumber and comes alive once more. With the trees in bud and the daffodils signalling the change of the seasons, Tombain overlooks the seasons new crop of lambs or calves leaping around in the field in front. Local wildlife includes deer, rabbit, red squirrels and even the occasional pine marten. Birds of prey include buzzards, sparrow hawks and golden eagle if you are lucky.
Other wildlife attractions include the Loch Garten Osprey Centre, Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig, Reindeer at Glenmore, or wildlife photography sessions which can be arranged on request with well-known local photographers. If you prefer your wildlife for the table, fishing on the Spey, trout fishing at Loch Vaa, and Stalking can be arranged on request.
